Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian formed a collaborative practice as early as 1999 in Tehran, Iran, and it flourished in the United Arab Emirates where the artists have resided in self-imposed exile since 2009. The artists work individually and collectively and regularly incorporate friends and people from different walks of life into their practice. The trio’s work is often referred to as a landscape where the complex nature of processing is integrated in the nested system that forms the landscape of their exhibitions. The collective has had several solo exhibitions in prominent museums including Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2020, Germany); Frye Art Museum, Seattle (2019, United States of America); Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR), Turin, Italy (2018); MACBA, Barcelona (2017, Spain); Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), Boston, USA (2015); Kunsthalle Zürich (2015, Switzerland) and Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen (2015, Denmark).
They have participated in numerous international exhibitions, such as the 22nd Sydney Biennal with an expansive installation at the Powerhouse Museum (2020, Australia); the inaugural Toronto Biennial of Art (2019, Canada); the award-winning exhibition (6th Global Fine Art Award in the Global Humanity category) at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark (2019); Phillips Collection in partnership with the New Museum, Washington D.C. (2019, USA). They created multi-room and immersive installations for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (2017); across three venues for the 9th Liverpool Biennial (2016, United Kingdom), and for the 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Queensland Gallery, Brisbane (2015, Australia).
Their works are held in the collections of The Städel Museum, Frankfurt; Le Centre National des Arts Plastiques, Paris; Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA); Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark; Frye Art Museum, Seattle; Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Powerhouse Museum, Sydney; among others. Their bibliography includes a publication by DISTANZ on the occasion of their exhibition at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2020), a monography published by Corraini Edizioni for their show at OGR, Turin (2018), as well as a book by Mousse Publishing for their exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich (2015). Finally, Editions Patrick Frey published a facsimile of their artist book entitled Her Majesty? (2015).
